Caroline Woodward Johnson, 97 died Thursday, July 9, 2009 in Austell, GA. The native and lifelong resident of Savannah lived in the Austell area for the past 3 years. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and served as President of the St. John's Businesswomen's Club. For many years Caroline served as a guide at St. John's historic parish house. She retired from the Social Security Office in Savannah after 40 years of service.

She is survived by her nephew, William R. Johnson and his wife, Eleanor, of Smyrna, GA, her grand-nephew, Richard W. Johnson and his wife, Allison, of Austell, GA, two great-great-nephews, Andrew and Ethan, both of Austell, and her cousin, Judge John W. Sognier, of Savannah.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at St. John's Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at the Green-Meldrim House.

Burial in Laurel Grove Cemetery.
